Morning Routine

I know, I know… anything with routine in it doesn’t sound fun. I get it! But, just hear me out. These days, I like to keep my commitments to a minimum. I like the freedom to spend time doing things I love and being there for my family. It is a fun season in life.

However, I am also one of those people that like for my home to be clean, organized and running smoothly. The way I do that is through routines.

I start my morning with coffee, that is an absolute must. My husband has it ready for me when I get up (it’s the little things 🥰). Then I do my devotion and gratitude journal. Next, I straighten the living room and office area, then I make our bed.

After that, I shower, get ready for the day then wipe down the bathroom counter and sink. I have breakfast after that. Next, I unload the dishwasher and wipe down the kitchen counters. I put on a load of laundry and my morning routine is done.

It sounds like a lot but the time I am actually cleaning is only like 15 to 20 minutes and it has literally changed my life.

The rest of the day, everyone puts their dirty dishes in the dishwasher. A load of laundry gets done every day. Everything stays neat and put away.

There have been seasons in my life where I didn’t do this and it was much harder to keep things done. For me, there are not many things that bring me more peace and comfort than a clean and cozy home. Not everyone is like that, and that is ok. But, if you are I strongly recommend you create a morning and evening routine that works for you and your family. We’ll talk about the evening one later.

Just disciplining yourself a little to create some small habits will free you up so much the rest of the day. If creating routines is hard for you ( or even if it is not) I strongly recommend The Passionate Penny Pincher Home Planner. I am in no way affiliated with them, but you guys know I am a planner addict!!! This is by far one of my favorites! You can find their shop online.

What is your favorite part of your morning routine?
